James B. Stewart, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Stewart's concentration is on diagnostic and therapeutic
care of non-surgical eye problems and diseases. He also specializes
in the post-operative care of cataract patients. He is interactive
in coordinating optometric and ophthalmic information with referring
doctors to ensure efficient and timely eye care. As Director of
Optometry, Dr. Stewart works extensively on quality assurance programs
for The Eye Center Group, and delivers lectures and presentations
on optometric care to technical personnel. He practices at the Muncie
Eye Center.
Education and Training
Dr. Stewart received his undergraduate degree from
the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana and earned his
Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of
Optometry. He also completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni
Eye Services of Chattanooga. Following his residency, he completed
a fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.
In addition to his tenure as Director of Optometry
for The Eye Center Group, Dr. Stewart has served as Assistant Director
at Omni Eye Services of Chattanooga. He is an associate adjunct
professor at Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington
and has been an associate adjunct professor at Ferris State College
of Optometry in Big Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Stewart has given professional lectures on ocular
disease and surgery including ocular therapeutics, diabetic retinopathy
and ocular emergencies.
