Michael J. Scanameo, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Scanameo is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in a wide range of medical and surgical eye care services including cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery and eye diseases.

Education and Training

Dr. Scanameo earned his medical degree from the State University of NY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. He served his internship and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. He brings to The Eye Center Group five years of ophthalmic experience in a private practice environment.

Dr. Scanameo provides specialized care to the Muncie, Marion, Kokomo and Portland communities. The Eye Center Group is an ophthalmic practice with offices in Muncie, Marion, Kokomo, Portland, Richmond, Connersville, Winchester, and Union City. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
