| Jeffrey S. Rapkin, M.D.
As a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship
trained retina subspecialist, Dr. Rapkin provides the full range
of medical and surgical eye care and consultation. He offers his
patients the latest advances in the treatment of retinal diseases
including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and macular degeneration.
He also treats the retinal effects of hypertension, circulatory
problems and inflammatory disease.
Education and Training
Dr. Rapkin earned a Bachelor of Science in Premedical
Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he graduated
Phi Beta Kappa, and received his medical degree from the Medical
College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He served a flexible internship
and his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where
he was Chief Resident in ophthalmology. Dr. Rapkin also completed
a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Southern Illinois UniversIty
School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.
Dr. Rapkin is a member of the American Academy of
Ophthalmology and the Indiana State Medical Association, and has
formerly held numerous staff positions in ophthalmology and surgery
in Illinois, Oklahoma and Ohio.
An active researcher in the field of ophthalmology,
Dr. Rapkin has published the results of his research in numerous
professional publications and has presented before many ophthalmic
organizations. He continues to be a leader in ongoing research and
development of state-of-the-art treatments for diseases of the eye.
