Vision is our Focus.
At The Eye Center Group, we are committed to providing
our patients excellence in eye care. We offer patients comprehensive
eye care including specialized medical, surgical and vision
care. Our doctors who specialize in the medical and surgical
field of eye care are ophthalmologists. Many of The Eye Center
Group ophthalmologists have additional training in a particular
area of the eye and are fellowship trained subspecialists. Having
such high caliber of specialists is very unique to the communities
we serve because this type of care is usually found only in
larger cities.

What is an Ophthalmologist?
An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes
in the medical and surgical care of the eyes and visual system and
in the prevention of eye disease and injury. The ophthalmologist is
a specialist who is qualified by lengthy medical education, training,
and is licensed by a state regulatory board to practice medicine and
surgery. An ophthalmologist's training includes 4 years of college,
4 years of medical school, 1 year of general residency, and an additional
3 years of ophthalmology residency. Finally, some ophthalmologists
also complete additional training in a subspeciality area of ophthalmology
to become fellowship trained, which takes 1-2 years to complete.

On-Site Surgicenters
Most surgeries at The Eye Center Group are performed
at our very own surgery centers. We have three surgery centers,
located at the Muncie, Richmond, and Marion Eye Centers, which
are fully equipped with modern equipment, certified nurses,
and convenient and comforting amenities. The convenience of
having these surgery centers on site allows patients to come
to our centers for uninterrupted service and top quality care.
Patients can have all their exams and surgery in one facility,
rather than having to make multiple appointments and travel
time to the hospital.
