Richard
B. Mangan, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Richard Mangan provides non-surgical diagnostic
and therapeutic care of the eye including medical eye
examinations, refractive surgery consultations, pre- and postoperative
cataract care, treatment of minor eye injuries, and the diagnosis
and management of a variety of ocular diseases.
Education and Training:
Dr. Mangan received his undergraduate degree in biology
from University of Kentucky and his doctor of optometry degree from
Illinois College of Optometry. He was inducted as a Fellow of the
American Academy of Optometry in 2000. Dr. Mangan has received numerous
honors, presented papers to national organizations, and acted as
investigator/coordinator in laser refractive surgery studies. In
addition, he has an advanced certification in LASIK and experience
in comanaging thousands of refractive surgeries.
Dr. Mangan’s specialization in refractive surgery
has developed his role at The Eye Center Group into the Director
of the Refractive Surgery Team. He is also a consultant for the
American Optometric Association and an adjunct clinical professor
at the Indiana University School of Optometry. He is also interactive
in coordinating optometric and ophthalmic information with referring
doctors to ensure quality and efficient eye care.
