Restylane

What is Restylane?

A natural and safe dermal filler, Restylane restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds such as ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) and to augment the lips. Typically, Restylane is used in the mid- and deep- dermis for moderate to prominent folds. It is the first cosmetic filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already found in the human body. Since Restylane is non-allergenic, skin testing is not required as when using some other fillers. Restylane maintains its shape using the body’s own moisture. To help alleviate discomfort during injection, a topical anesthetic will be applied. Studies have shown that results typically last for about four to six months. For more information about Restylane, visit Medicis.
